As cliché as it sounds, year 2013 has its ups and downs.
The beginning of 2013 was a rough patch for me. I was faced with different choices and roadblocks, but managed to get back on my feet around May. On May, I joined a retreat in my church and came back very refreshed. Then I joined a new cell group.
The first quarter of 2013 filled with numbness and questions; but there wasn’t much to tell about.
2013, I got a puppy. A French bulldog, cute one we named it Totoro. It is a she by the way. Back when I was around 8 years old, our family adopted a Labrador retriever, but then it died when I was 15 years old. Our parents never agreed to adopt another puppy since then; mostly because it takes a lot of effort to pet one, and when it died, it breaks our hearts a lot. But this year, after a lot of pros and cons, we finally adopted another one!
Well, living with Totoro taught us so many things. When she first got to our house, she was only 2 months old. Only 3 kg, and now she is 5 months old, probably around 8 kg (so fat isn’t she). She is very smart and adorable and cute and annoying at the same time. But one thing for sure, she is very loyal with this cute little face that follows us everywhere.
2013 also brought me an unbelievable opportunity. My friend and I wrote an essay together and submitted it to ISIC in London. We didn’t expect much; but we did our best. Our essay titled Batik Small- Medium Enterprises. Around October, we got confirmation that our essay was approved and we were asked to present our paper in London. Even though we ended up not going due to several issues, but personally, it was an achievement.
I wrote entries in 2013. You might think I don’t write a lot, but actually I do. I just don’t publish it (LOL). The thing is, the entries I wrote were either stacked on my draft folder or being published somewhere else (yes, I wrote for another website). However, for whatever I have posted here in my blog, there is no one entry, not even one entry, that I regretted posting it. When I wrote for this blog, I usually reread and edit the entries hundreds of times before really publishing it – especially if the contents are sensitive. I had my test readers to give me inputs if necessary.
Another highlight of 2013 is I fall in love (yay). Sometimes along the way, after failed relationships, I felt that giving up relationship might be a good idea. God told me differently. He is an awesome man. I didn’t know what other girls want, but for me, he is what I wanted all along. He teaches me so many things; and we learn so many things together. I am not an easy person to deal with, but with such patience, he stays. We share a lot of thoughts together – agree to disagree. We can talk for hours and never go out of topics. He laughs at my jokes FTW! In short, he is a partner.
For those of you who have been such a visitor for my blog throughout 2013, I thank you. You guys mean a lot. Your comments and thoughts mean a lot. Your inputs mean a lot. Even your presences mean a lot.
I am looking forward for the New Year to come; of course I really hope you would be with me to write each other’s journey as well.
Merry Christmas 2013
And Happy New Year 2014
